The NFL season is just around the corner. There are some sure bets on teams to win their division and even their conference and Super Bowl. Vegas has the Patriots, Seahawks, Steelers, and Packers among the best odds in the business. There are also those teams who are a sure bet to be the worst NFL teams in 2016. This is my list of those teams, and really in no particular order.
1. Cleveland Browns
Will they ever become a good team? I’m not sure they can even win one game. They have next to zero talent, and every quarterback they either draft or sign in free agency has been a bust. No matter what happens this football season, they will be the worst, hands down. They aren’t going to be as bad as the 1976 Buccaneers, but they will be bad.
2. Tennessee Titans
Their schedule doesn’t look that hard, but they just aren’t very good. They seem to have issues with quarterback too. The quarterback is the central part of any team, just ask the Patriots. Talent level is low, and they are going have to start drafting much smarter.
3. San Diego Chargers
The Chargers will likely improve from their dismal season a year ago. They have the best quarterback in the division in Phillip Rivers, but the problem isn’t him. The problem is trying to keep the offensive line healthy. If that can happen, I see them finishing with a record of 6-10.
4. Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars have started the past few seasons horribly. And, under their coach Gus Bradley, their September and October records were horrible at 3-20. They start their first two games playing Green Bay and San Diego, and that’s gonna be a hard way to being this year too. The end of the season is bleak also, with games playing Denver, Minnesota, and Houston. Don’t look for them to reach the .500 mark this year either. They have one of the worst fan bases in sports, so don’t expect many people in the audience.
5. Miami Dolphins
My prediction for the unpredictable Dolphins is a dismal 7-9 record this 2016 season. They have a rookie coach named Adam Gase, and they are in a rebuilding process. A combination like this doesn’t spell much success for Miami. Also, their strength of schedule this year is 11th in the NFL, and for a team in the rebuilding process, that could mean disaster.
6. San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers will not come close to the .500 mark this year. They are rebuilding as well and I predict they will come up far short for wins this year with a poor record of 4-12. They are less talented than last year and they have the league’s toughest schedule. Gonna be painful to watch them this season.
